The international development of INTERTEX MILANO continues, with China identified as one of the key strategic markets for the 2027 edition. As part of this strategy, INTERTEX MILANO with Nicolò Costanzo met in Milan with Mr. Guo Peidong (郭培东), representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Italy, to present the exhibition and its international development project.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to introduce INTERTEX MILANO and discuss the potential for strengthening connections between the Chinese textile industry and the Italian and European markets.
During the meeting, Nicolò Costanzo presented the positioning and objectives of INTERTEX MILANO, with particular attention to the development of the exhibition as an international sourcing platform in Milan for textile manufacturers, suppliers, fashion professionals and buyers from around the world.
Particular attention was dedicated to China, which represents one of the most important textile manufacturing markets globally and a strategic country for the future development of INTERTEX MILANO.
The role of CCPIT in international trade
Founded in 1952, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is China’s national agency dedicated to the promotion of foreign trade and investment.
Its activities include promoting international trade, bilateral investment and economic and technological cooperation, as well as developing relationships with international trade-promotion organizations, business associations and companies.
CCPIT also plays an important role in the international exhibition sector. Among its activities are the organization and coordination of Chinese participation in international exhibitions, fairs, forums and economic events, as well as supporting Chinese companies in developing international business opportunities.
Through its international network and overseas representative offices, the organization contributes to building economic and commercial relations between Chinese companies and international markets.
The presence of a CCPIT Representative Office in Italy therefore represents an important point of connection between the Chinese and Italian business communities.
Meeting with Mr. Guo Peidong
During the meeting in Milan, Mr. Guo Peidong (郭培东) and Nicolò Costanzo discussed the INTERTEX MILANO project and the opportunities offered by the Italian market to Chinese textile companies interested in expanding their international business relationships.
For INTERTEX MILANO, dialogue with organizations and representatives connected to the Chinese business community forms part of a broader strategy aimed at creating stronger links between Chinese textile manufacturers and European fashion and textile buyers.
The objective is not simply to increase the number of international exhibitors, but to develop an exhibition capable of generating concrete business opportunities, international contacts and long-term commercial relationships.
China at the centre of INTERTEX MILANO’s international strategy
The meeting is part of a wider programme of activities that INTERTEX MILANO is developing for the Chinese market ahead of the next edition, scheduled to take place in Milan from 1 to 3 February 2027.
The organization is currently strengthening its relationships with Chinese agents, companies and industry professionals, while developing dedicated promotional activities specifically for the Chinese textile market.
A dedicated Chinese-language promotional campaign has also been prepared, including specific materials and flyers introducing the Milan exhibition to potential Chinese companies and industry stakeholders.
Connecting Chinese manufacturers with buyers in Milan
The strategy for 2027 has a clear objective: to make INTERTEX MILANO an increasingly effective meeting point between international textile manufacturers and the European fashion industry.
Milan provides a particularly strategic environment for this objective.
Alongside the exhibition area, INTERTEX MILANO is developing a programme designed to increase the value of the visit for buyers and exhibitors, including conferences with international experts and VIP speakers, networking activities, a dedicated GREENTA area for sustainable and eco-friendly products, and a Trend Area developed in collaboration with professional designers.
The organization is also developing specific hospitality initiatives for selected buyers, with the possibility of providing accommodation at the exhibition hotel to facilitate their participation.
Building a bridge between China and the European textile market
The dialogue with Mr. Guo Peidong and the upcoming activities in Shanghai reflect INTERTEX MILANO’s commitment to developing its presence in China through direct relationships with companies, agents, institutions and industry organizations.
The goal is to create an increasingly international exhibition in Milan and provide Chinese textile companies with a platform through which they can meet buyers, fashion brands, sourcing professionals, importers, distributors and other decision-makers from Italy and Europe.
INTERTEX MILANO 2027 will take place in Milan from 1–3 February 2027.
The road to the next edition is already underway — and China will play an important role in its international development.
